Case Study

An online presence designed like a business card

For Galerie Lucie Monnet, we designed a website standing in stark contrast to cluttered art platforms. The visual identity is approached with the quiet restraint of a bespoke business card, and texts are written with the clarity of a personal letter.
The screen is divided into two panels with generous white space. This uncluttered environment allows visitors to contemplate each creation in calm, free from commercial banners or extraneous distractions.

01 · Photography

Showcasing artworks in their true setting

To capture the authentic atmosphere of the gallery, photographs were taken on site. This approach anchors each artwork within the physical space and conveys the true proportions of the rooms.
Canvases were captured in high definition to reveal linen grain and delicate brushstrokes, while sculptures are illuminated by a soft, ambient light that accentuates their sculptural contours.

02 · Layout

A dual-panel screen

Rather than an endless scroll where images collide, the screen is cleanly split into two halves: on the left, an understated column of text; on the right, a single artwork at a time.
This sequential browsing system (“01 of 12”) grants visitors time to take in each piece at their own pace, much like walking through a private gallery view.

03 · Editorial tone

Clear, direct writing

On every artwork page, presentation focuses on what matters: the wall label provides essential details (title, artist, dimensions) in refined typography, without superfluous chatter.
Descriptions forgo dense theoretical jargon to address visitors directly, fostering genuine, candid dialogue with art lovers.

04 · Organic SEO

Highlighting exhibitions and international art fairs

A conventional news blog poorly reflects the expectations of the art world. To build lasting visibility, we opted instead to document the gallery’s landmark milestones.
Each exhibition and participation in international fairs (Art Basel, PAD, Frieze) receives a dedicated, meticulously crafted page, reinforcing the institution’s prestige among collectors and search engines alike.

05 · Artists’ narratives

Telling the studio story

The texts illuminate each artist’s creative process: techniques, color palette selections, and work with raw materials.
By pairing these narratives with precise technical indexes (dimensions, medium used, provenance), the site equips collectors with key insights prior to an acquisition, while helping search engines unambiguously identify every work.
